OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Rebecca Lacombe, 44, of Alexandria was arrested on April 21st, 2022 and charged with operation while prohibited and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 21st, 2022, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 12th, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old Martintown man was arrested on April 21st, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on April 12th, 2022 for a domestic-related offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 21st, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on June 28th, 2022. His name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and would identify the victim.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Megan Lafave, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on April 21st, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on April 1st, 2022, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 21st, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 14th, 2022.

THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 22nd, 2022 and charged with uttering threats. It is alleged during an altercation with his father on April 22nd, the man made threats to kill him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DRUG WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – On the morning of April 22nd, 2022, the Cornwall Police Service, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, executed a drug warrant in the area of Glenview Heights.

Distraction devices were used and heard; however, no guns were fired. There is no threat to public safety.

The CPS will provide further details on this investigation next week.
