MAN CHARGED WITH 12 DOMESTIC-RELATED OFFENCES

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 7th, 2022 and charged with the following:

• Domestic assault
• Assault causing bodily harm (choking)
• Assault with a weapon x 2
• Forcible confinement
• Uttering threats x 2
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
• Pointing a firearm
• Use of imitation firearm
• Breach of release order (for contacting his ex-girlfriend)

The man’s 57-year-old father was also charged with forcible confinement in relation to the incident and was held for a bail hearing.

It is alleged between April 5-6, 2022, the man assaulted, choked, and assaulted his ex-girlfriend by striking her with a firearm and another object. He further pointed the firearm at the woman and made threats to kill the woman and a member of her family, in addition to preventing her from leaving the residence. On April 7th, 2022, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 46-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 7th, 2022 and charged with the following:

• Domestic assault with a weapon
• Assault causing bodily harm (choking)
• Breach of undertaking (for contacting his girlfriend)
• Breach of probation order (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on April 7th, 2022, during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, the man assaulted her with a skateboard and choked the woman, and police were subsequently contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 7th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 7th, 2022, the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 8th, 2022 and charged with three counts of breach of probation for contacting his mother, being within a certain distance of her and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on April 8th, 2022, while police were investigating a disturbance, the man was located in the company of his mother, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 9th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
