THEFT UNDER $5000 X 2, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – James MacFarlane, 37, of Ottawa was arrested on May 6th, 2022 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime, as well as two counts of breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between May 4, 2022 and May 6, 2022, the man took an e-bike and a cell phone that did not belong to him, and was also in possession of a quantity of stolen lottery tickets. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 6th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Mattieu Arsenault, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2022 and charged with break and enter, as well as mischief under $5000. It is alleged on May 6th, 2022, the man forced his way into a residence that did not belong to him, causing damage to a window, as well as damaged walls inside of the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Casey Stone, 30, of Morrisburg was arrested on May 6th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to abide by the conditions of his probation order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 6th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on June 9th, 2022.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – Adam Saucier, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2022 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged on May 6th, 2022, the man entered a building without permission and removed items from the building that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Austin Gosman, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on May 7th, 2022 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with someone he did not know, the man assaulted the victim and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 14th, 2022. 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Garry Barstch, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on May 7th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on February 24th, 2022 for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 7th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on July 14th, 2022.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 7th, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for contacting her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged on May 7th, 2022, the woman had contact with her ex-boyfriend, despite the conditions of her release order, and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Nicholas Fife, 29, of Orleans was arrested on May 7th, 2022 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to notify a change of address to police. It is alleged on April 28th, 2022, the man had moved to a new residence and failed to notify police of the change. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 7th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 9th, 2022.
