Cornwall, ON – As a result of an ongoing investigation into opioid trafficking by the Cornwall Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police joint-force Street Level Enforcement Team, an individual has been taken into custody through joint-force Operation Antagonist.

On May 26th, 2022, members of the Street Level Enforcement Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at an Alice Street residence. During a search of the residence, police located a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, psilocybin, Hydromorphone, brass knuckles, a knife, as well as Canadian and American currency. A crossbow and ammunition that had been reported stolen was also located during the search. The total estimated value of the seized drugs and currency is approximately $5300.00.

During the investigation, Tracey Lalonde, 51, of Cornwall, was taken into custody and charged with the following:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x 3 – Cocaine and Hydromorphone
• Possession of a Schedule I substance x 7 – Cocaine, Psilocybin, Hydromorphone, Methamphetamine
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x 3
• Unauthorized possession of a weapon x 2
• Careless storage of ammunition

The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 12th, 2022.

The CPS and OPP are working diligently to combat drug trafficking within the City of Cornwall and surrounding areas and would like to remind residents about the dangers of using and selling illicit drugs.
