WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kayla Nielsen, 32, of Cardinal, ON was arrested on August 8th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 8th, 2022, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held in custody to await a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on August 8th, 2022 and charged with domestic mischief. It is alleged on August 5th, 2022, the woman attended her ex-husband’s residence and damaged his vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 8th, 2022, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 30th, 2022. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 8th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault and assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged between August 4-8, 2022, the man assaulted his girlfriend and choked her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OBSTRUCT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 8th, 2022 and charged with obstruct police. On August 8th, 2022, police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance, in which a man and woman were allegedly heard fighting in their residence. Police attended the residence, at which time the man interfered with the investigation by preventing police from entering the residence in order to check on the well-being of everyone inside. He was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 8th, 2022. His name was not released as the original call stems from a domestic occurrence and may identify a victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Maxville, ON youth was arrested on August 8th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on May 14th, 2022, the youth attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 8th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
