WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 17th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on August 16th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a domestic assault offence and police were contacted to investigate. On August 17th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 22nd, 2022. His name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Karisa Malette, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on August 17th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on May 30th, 2022, the woman failed to return to her residence during the hours of her curfew and had changed her address, despite the conditions of her release order. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 17th, 2022, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 22nd, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 18th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault, as well as breach of release order for failing to remain in his residence. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on August 18th, 2022, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend while at a local establishment. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
