WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Abiodun Akinola, 54, of Etobicoke, ON was arrested on August 25th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged between March 2019 and March of 2022, the man conspired to defraud someone he did not know of a quantity of money exceeding $5000.00. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 25th, 2022, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 29th, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 25th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault, domestic mischief and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 16th, 2022, during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, the man assaulted her and damaged various household items in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 25th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 20th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT X 2, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 25th, 2022 and charged with two counts of domestic assault, as well as forcible confinement. It is alleged on August 22nd and 24th, 2022, the man assaulted his girlfriend, as well as prevented her from leaving the residence on August 24th. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 25th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 20th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 25th, 2022 and charged with three counts of breach of probation for contacting his ex-wife, being within a certain distance of her and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with mischief. It is alleged on August 25th, 2022, the man attended his ex-wife’s residence, despite his conditions. It is further alleged shortly thereafter, the man damaged a vehicle belonging to someone he did not know. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Austin Major, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on August 25th, 2022 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged on August 25th, 2022, the man was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine and currency during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 29th, 2022.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Albert Jocko, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on August 26th, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for failing to remain in his residence. It is alleged during the early morning hours on August 26th, 2022, the man was located outside of his residence, despite his conditions, during a traffic stop. An investigation ensued and the man was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
