FAIL TO ATTEND COURT

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old woman was arrested on August 31st, 2022 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged on August 30th, 2022, the woman failed to attend court for a domestic mischief offence and police were contacted to investigate. On August 31st, 2022, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 4th, 2022. Her name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic occurrence and would identify the victim in the matter.

 THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Amanda McCourt, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on August 31st, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the woman had been running electricity to her residence from someone else’s residence without paying for it and police were contacted to investigate. On August 31st, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 4th, 2022.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Michel Lecompte, 64, of Cornwall was arrested on August 31st, 2022 and charged with two counts of breach of release order for failing to reside at a certain residence and failing to report to his bail supervision program. It is alleged on June 28th, 2022, the man failed to report to his bail supervision program and had further moved residences without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 31st, 2022, the man was located and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 4th, 2022.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 1st, 2022 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man had repeatedly communicated with his ex-girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. On September 1st, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 1st, 2022 and charged with mischief under $5000 and assault. It is alleged on September 1st, the youth attended her mother’s residence and damaged a door, as well as assaulted her mother. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
