FRAUD UNDER $5000 X 2, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, FAIL TO ATTEND COURT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – James MacFarlane, 38, of Ottawa was arrested on October 25th, 2022 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000 x 2
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Fail to attend court
• Breach of release order for failing to remain in his residence

It is alleged on April 30th, 2022, the man took a stolen cell phone and used it to access an individual’s bank account to transfer a quantity of money that did not belong to him. It is further alleged the man failed to attend court on October 3rd, 2022 for a theft offence and police were contacted. On October 25th, 2022, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man was located in breach of his conditions for being away from his residence. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON X 2, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Corrine Pilecki, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on October 25th, 2022 and charged with the following:

• Assault with a weapon x 2
• Uttering threats
• Breach of probation x 2 (for possessing a weapon and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on October 21st, 2022, the woman chased two individuals known to her while holding a bat, as well as made threats to kill one of the individuals. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 25th, 2022, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 29th, 2022.

WOMAN CHARGED WITH 8 COUNTS OF FRAUD UNDER $5000 AND ONE CHARGE OF THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on October 25th, 2022 and charged with theft of motor vehicle, as well as eight counts of fraud under $5000. It is alleged between October 19-24, 2022, the woman cashed eight cheques belonging to her grandfather, without permission, in order to obtain a quantity of money. It is further alleged the woman had taken her grandfather’s motor vehicle and failed to return it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 25th, 2022, she was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 29th, 2022. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on October 25th, 2022 and charged with mischief under $5000 and uttering threats. It is alleged on October 22nd, 2022, during an altercation with her mother, the youth made threats to kill the woman and damaged a door in the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 25th, 2022, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Angel Dore, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on October 26th, 2022 and charged with break and enter, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on October 26th, the woman entered the residence of someone she did not know without permission and took a quantity of household items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 8th, 2022.
