IMPAIRED

Cornwall, ON – Kandy Pierce, 29, of Akwesasne was arrested on January 6th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on January 6th, 2023, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug in the area of St. Felix Street. Police located the vehicle and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 26th, 2023.

BREAK AND ENTER x 3, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000 x 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jacques Periard, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on January 6th, 2023 and charged with three counts of break and enter, two counts of mischief under $5000 and six counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on December 31st, 2022, the man entered a closed Second Street business and Montreal Road business without permission and damaged items inside of the businesses. It is further alleged on January 4th, 2023, the man entered a closed Water Street business without permission and removed a cash register. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 6th, 2023, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, DISOBEYING COURT ORDER

Cornwall, ON – Charankan Kirubaharan, 20, of Toronto, ON was arrested on January 6th, 2023 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, as well as disobeying court order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 6th, 2023, while stopped at the Canadian Port of Entry, the man was observed to be operating a stolen motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 14th, 2023.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Spencer Besner, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on January 7th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on January 7th, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of First Street and York Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 31st, 2023.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kenneth Gass, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on January 7th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 7th, 2023, the man attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 14th, 2023.

TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Andy Shaver, 52, of Summerstown and Jody Burgess, 53, of Cornwall were both arrested on January 7th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. Jody Burgess was also charged with breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace and Andy Shaver was charged with an additional count of theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 7th, 2023, both men attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as they left the store. They were stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, Andy Shaver was further alleged to have attended a nearby Ninth Street business and remove items from that business without making any attempt to pay for the items as he left the store and attended the second business. During the investigation, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 14th, 2023.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Chelsea Doucet, 26, of Glen Robertson, ON was arrested on January 8th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 6th, 2023, the woman took a dog that did not belong to her from a Cumberland Street resident’s yard. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 8th, 2023, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 14th, 2023.

Cornwall, ON – Roxanne Cook, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on January 8th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 8th, 2023, the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 14th, 2023.
