THREATS, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 22nd, 2023 and charged with uttering threats, domestic mischief and breach of undertaking and release order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 12th, 2023, the woman made threats to damage her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle, and subsequently caused damage to it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 22nd, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 23, of Ottawa was arrested on February 22nd, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on January 10th, 2023, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 22nd, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 21st, 2023.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Jarritt Massia-Leger, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on February 22nd, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 1st, 2022, the man took a guitar and amplifier from someone known to him, without their permission, and police were contacted to investigate. On February 22nd, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 6th, 2023.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 22nd, 2023 and charged with three counts of breach of release order for contacting his girlfriend, attending her residence and being within a certain distance of the woman. It is alleged between January 12 and February 17, 2023, the man had been in contact with his girlfriend and had also attended her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 22nd, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on February 22nd, 2023 and charged with domestic assault, assault with a weapon and domestic mischief. It is alleged during an altercation with her boyfriend on February 22nd, the woman assaulted him, struck him with a tool, as well as damaged a case for an electronic device. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 7th, 2023. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 22nd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on January 9th, 2023, the man made threats to harm her and further threw an alcoholic beverage at her. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 22nd, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
