WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 27th, 2023 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged on November 29th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a previous fail to attend court offence. It is further alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend on January 2nd, 2023, the man assaulted her, causing an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On February 27th, 2023, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Tyler Pyper, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on February 27th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000 and two counts of assault. It is alleged on February 27th, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. He was stopped by two Loss Prevention Officers, who the man subsequently assaulted. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 6th, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Kingston man was arrested on February 27th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 9th, 2021, the man breached the conditions of his release order by contacting his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 27th, 2023, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FRAUD UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Dana Cayer, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on February 27th, 2023 and charged with fraud under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 22nd, 2023, the woman defrauded a victim using a social media platform to sell an item; however, failed to supply the item to the victim after receiving payment. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 27th, 2023, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 28th, 2023.
