BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Long Sault woman was arrested on March 31st, 2023 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting her boyfriend and being within a certain distance of him. It is alleged on March 27th, 2023, the woman was in the company of her boyfriend, despite her conditions, and an investigation ensued. On March 31st, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MAN ARRESTED IN TWO BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATIONS

Cornwall, ON – A 55-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 31st, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter x 2
  • Possession of break-in instruments x 2
  • Disguise with intent x 2
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
  • Flight from police
  • Breach of release order (for failing to notify a change of address)
  • Uttering threats – domestic

A 25-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 30th, 2023 and charged with break and enter.

It is alleged during the early morning hours on March 11th, 2023, the man forced his way into a Second Street West business while concealing his face, and subsequently removed a quantity of merchandise from the business before fleeing in a vehicle. Police were contacted and located the vehicle, which subsequently failed to stop for police. It is further alleged on March 27th, 2023, the man and his girlfriend forced their way into a Montreal Road business, and removed a quantity of money and merchandise. During the incident, the man is alleged to have made threats to kill his girlfriend.

On March 30th, 2023, the 25-year-old woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and was released to appear in court on May 4th, 2023.

On March 31st, 2023, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held in custody to await a bail hearing.

Their names are not being released due to the incident involving a domestic-related offence, that would subsequently identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 31st, 2023 and charged with resist police and two counts of breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her. He was also charged with four counts of breach of probation for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 31st, 2023, the man was located in the woman’s residence, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

INDECENT ACT IN A PUBLIC PLACE, INDECENT EXHIBITION, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Lauzon, 36, of St. Andrews West was arrested on March 31st, 2023 and charged with indecent act in a public place, indecent exhibition, mischief under $5000 and breach of probation for attending a Seventh Street West facility. It is alleged on March 31st, 2023, the individual attended a Seventh Street West facility, despite their conditions, and exposed himself while committing an indecent act in the presence of staff. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the individual was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 4th, 2023.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, OBSTRUCT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 31st, 2023, and charged with the following:

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Over 80
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Obstruct police

It is alleged on March 31st, 2023, the youth was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, when he struck an object in the area of St. Felix Street and fled the area on foot. Police were contacted and located the youth shortly thereafter. During the investigation, it was learned the man had taken the vehicle without permission and was in possession of the keys for the stolen motor vehicle. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. The name of the youth was not released per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FRAUD UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Tristen Wilkins, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on April 1st, 2023 and charged with five counts of fraud under $5000. It is alleged on March 26th, 2023, the man used a bank card that did not belong to him to conduct multiple purchases at local businesses. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 1st, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 1st, 2023 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged between February 15th, 2023 and April 1st, 2023, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 1st, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Andrew Robinson, 43, of Long Sault was arrested on April 2nd, 2023 and charged with impaired operation over 80. It is alleged on April 2nd, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and attended the drive-thru of a Brookdale Avenue restaurant. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 25th, 2023.

CRUELTY TO ANIMALS

Cornwall, ON – Rockey Marzano, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on April 2nd, 2023 and charged with cruelty to animals. It is alleged on April 2nd, 2023, the man willfully caused pain and suffering to his dog and police were contacted. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 4th, 2023. The animal was seized by an Animal Welfare Officer and would be assessed by a veterinarian.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Laura Buckley, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on April 2nd, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by her curfew. It is alleged during the night of April 2nd, police located the woman away from her residence, despite the conditions of her undertaking. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 4th, 2023.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on April 3rd, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 21st, 2023, the man failed to attend court for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 3rd, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
