TWO MEN ARRESTED IN ONGOING ROBBERY INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – Cortlon Skidders, 24, and Dakota Marini, 20, both of Cornwall, have both been arrested in relation to an ongoing investigation stemming form a robbery that occurred on March 27th, 2023.

It is alleged on March 27th, 2023, the men approached a victim, who was sitting in his parked motor vehicle in the area of Prince Arthur Street, at which time the men assaulted the victim and demanded money from him. The individuals are further alleged to have then forced the victim from his vehicle, at which time they entered the vehicle and fled the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

As a result of the investigation, both men were charged with the following:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Aggravated assault
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Breach of probation order (for failing to keep the peace)

Cortlon Skidders was charged with additional charges of theft under $5000 and breach of probation in relation to an incident that occurred on March 25th, 2023 where a bicycle had been taken from a Cotton Mill Street parking lot, which did not belong to the man.

Dakota Marini was taken into custody on March 29th, 2023 and Cortlon Skidders was taken into custody on April 6th, 2023. Both men were held in custody to await a bail hearing.
