BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 5th, 2023 and charged with two counts of breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her. He was also charged with breach of youth probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 5th, 2023, the youth attended his ex-girlfriend’s school and had contact with her, despite his conditions, and police were subsequently contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Massia, 24, of Avonmore was arrested on May 5th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on May 5th, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of McConnell Avenue and Eleventh Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 1st, 2023.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Masson McFarlane, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2023 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on May 6th, 2023, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Power Dam Drive and Tollgate Road. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 1st, 2023.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 6th, 2023 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his step-son, the man assaulted him and police were contacted. On May 6th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 6th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 6th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged between January 2021 and February 2023, the man had forced his way into his mother’s residence, despite his conditions, causing damages inside of the residence, as well as assaulted the woman and held a knife to her. The man is further alleged to have made threats to kill her and prevented her from leaving the residence. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 6th, 2023, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 6th, 2023 and charged with mischief under $5000 and breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her and failing to remain in his residence. It is alleged on May 6th, 2023, the man had damaged his ankle monitor and attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Novick, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2023 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on May 6th, 2023, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, police took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 6th, 2023.

HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS, THREATS X 2, TRESPASSING AT NIGHT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 6th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Harassing communications
  • Uttering threats x 2
  • Trespassing at night
  • Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged between April 28-29, 2023, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend and made threats to kill the woman and damage her car. The man is further alleged to have entered the property of someone he did not know while looking for his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 6th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 7th, 2023 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting a certain person. It is alleged on May 7th, the youth contacted someone who he has conditions of no contact with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT X 2, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 7th, 2023 and charged with two counts of domestic assault, as well as domestic mischief. It is alleged on May 3rd and May 7th, the man assaulted his girlfriend. It is further alleged on May 7th, the man damaged a television belonging to the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
