BREAK AND ENTER X 2, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Steven Coleman, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on May 9th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter x 2
  • Forcible confinement
  • Mischief under $5000

It is alleged on April 23rd, 2023, the man entered two residences of people casually known to him without their permission. While inside one of the residences, the man damaged the door and prevented the homeowner from leaving. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 9th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CAUSING A DISTURBANCE, RESIST POLICE, ASSAULT POLICE WITH INTENT TO AVOID ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Lascelle, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on May 9th, 2023 and charged with the following:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Resist police
  • Assault with intent to avoid arrest
  • Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on May 9th, 2023, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man began yelling and screaming, while causing a disturbance outside of his residence. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, at which time he resisted being arrested and assaulted police. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THREATS, MISCHIEF, CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 9th, 2023 and charged with uttering threats, mischief under $5000, carrying a concealed weapon and resist police. It is alleged on May 9th, 2023, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the youth made a threat to kill the police officer. He was subsequently taken into custody after a brief struggle, at which time he damaged glasses belonging to the officer. The youth was further found to be in possession of a concealed knife. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

The girlfriend of the youth, being a 14-year-old girl of no-fixed-address, was also taken into custody and charged with obstruct police, for interfering with the male youth being taken into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

The names of the youth are not being released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
