TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON – Damian MacDermid, 35, and Tyler McMillan, 29, both of Cornwall were arrested on May 10th, 2023 and charged with robbery with theft. It is alleged on May 10th, 2023, the men attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise without making any attempt to pay. The men further assaulted a Loss Prevention Officer and fled with the merchandise. Police were contacted and located the men shortly thereafter. They were taken into custody and charged accordingly. Tyler McMillan was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. He was held in custody to await a bail hearing and Damian MacDermid was released to appear in court on June 15th, 2023.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 10th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend on May 9th, 2023, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. On May 10th, 2023, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 30th, 2023. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.  

SHOPLIFTING X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kenneth Gass, 53, of Cornwall was arrested on May 10th, 2023 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 18th, 2023 and May 6th, 2023, the man attended two Ninth Street businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the stores on either occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 10th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 15th, 2023.
