WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Devon Brown, 23, of Cornwall, was arrested on July 25th, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that between June 12th, 2023, and June 14th, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to report to a probation officer within two days of his release from custody and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 25th, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old youth was arrested on July 25th, 2023, and charged with assault. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2023, the youth assaulted another person known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. The youth’s name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER, MISCHIEF OVER $5000

Cornwall, ON – On July 25th, 2023, police received a complaint alleging a group of youths had broken into a dwelling and were causing damage to it. Police attended and an investigation ensued. As a result of the investigation;

  • A 13-year-old youth was taken into custody, charged with mischief over $5000 and break and enter, and was released to appear in court at a later date.
  • A 16-year-old youth was taken into custody, charged with mischief over $5000 and break and enter, and was released to appear in court at a later date.
  • A 13-year-old youth was taken into custody, charged with mischief over $5000 and break and enter, and was released to appear in court at a later date.

Their names were not released as per the provisions of the youth Criminal Justice Act.

HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old man of Cornwall, was arrested on July 25th, 2023, and charged with one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2023, the man harassed his ex-girlfriend by repeatedly communicating with her, which caused her to fear for her safety. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 25th, 2023, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on August 23rd, 2023.
