FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Leaf Eastwood, 34, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 11th, 2020 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints on August 6th, 2020 and an investigation ensued. On September 11th, 2020 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 17th, 2020.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Gobinath Sivanathan, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on September 11th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 11th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 49-year-old Iroquois man was arrested on September 11th, 2020 and charged with four counts of breach of probation for contacting his common-law wife, being within a certain distance of her, and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 11th, the man was located in his common-law wife’s residence, despite the conditions of his probation order. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 17th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Deklan Barta, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on September 12th, 2020 and charged with breach of undertaking for attending the City of Cornwall. It is alleged while police were investigating a disturbance on September 12th, the man was located in a residence in the City of Cornwall, despite the conditions of his undertaking. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Megan Powless, 26, of Akwesasne was arrested on September 12th, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on September 10th, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. On September 12th, 2020, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – John Logan, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on September 12th, 2020 and charged with operation while prohibited. It is alleged on September 12th, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so when he entered the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020.

HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 12th, 2020 and charged with the following:

·         Harassing communications

·         Criminal harassment

·         Uttering threats

·         Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

·         Breach of release order (for contacting his ex-common-law wife, being within a certain distance of her, and attending her residence)

It is alleged between July and September, the man had attended the residence of his ex-common-law wife on several occasions and repeatedly had contact with her. The man also alleged made threats to damage property belonging to the woman and her family. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 12th, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Justin Deschamps, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on September 12th, 2020 and charged with assault and breach of release order for contacting a certain person. It is alleged on September 12th, the man assaulted someone he is to have no contact with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 20th, 2020.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Nancy Locey, 64, of Lunenburg was arrested on September 12th, 2020 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on September 12th, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Marleau Avenue and Guy Street. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020.

Cornwall, ON – Kirkland Terriah, 23, of Cornwall was arrested on September 13th, 2020 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints on September 8th, 2020 and an investigation ensued. On September 13th, 2020 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020.

BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shawnna Chartrand, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on September 13th, 2020 and charged with break and enter, theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the early morning hours on September 13th, 2020, the woman entered a closed Vincent Massey Drive business and removed merchandise. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 13th, 2020 and charged with domestic mischief and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an altercation on September 13th, 2020, the man damaged a door at his girlfriend’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 13th, 2020 and charged with two counts of domestic assault. It is alleged between 2019 and September 2020, the man assaulted his girlfriend on two occasions and police were contacted to investigate. On September 13th, 2020, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 26th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
