WARRANTS, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Mitchell Berube, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2020 on the strength of two warrants for breaching his probation order and damaging a wall. He was also charged with:

·         Assault with a weapon

·         Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

·         Mischief under $5000

·         Possession of a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

·         Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on September 29th, 2020, the man assaulted someone known to him with a bat, as well as damaged a balcony and the floor of the victim’s residence. It is further alleged the man was in possession of methamphetamine. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 6th, 2020, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Belanger, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2020 and charged with mischief under $5000. It is alleged on October 6th, 2020, the woman damaged a vehicle belonging to someone known to her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 15th, 2020.
