THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Trevor Williams, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on October 21st, 2020 and charged with theft under $5000 and two counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 21st, 2020, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 31st, 2020.

SHOPLIFTING, FAIL TO ATTEND COURT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Edward Steptoe, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on October 21st, 2020 and charged with the following:

·         Theft under $5000 x 2

·         Fail to attend court

·         Breach of release order (for failing to report to police and notify his address to police)

It is alleged on October 20th, 2020, the man failed to attend court for a theft offence. It is further alleged between October 20-21, 2020, the man attended two businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left either store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 21st, 2020, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CAUSE A DISTURBANCE, ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Dustin O’Byrne, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on October 21st, 2020 and charged with causing a disturbance, assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man attended the residence of someone known to him and caused a disturbance outside of the home. It is further alleged the man assaulted the victim and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANTS, DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, ASSAULT POLICE, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 21st, 2020 on the strength of multiple warrants. He was also charged with the following:

·         Domestic mischief

·         Assault police x 2

·         Uttering threats

·         Breach of release order (for failing to remain in his residence)

·         Breach of probation x 2 (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged between August and September, the man had breached his probation and release order and warrants were issued for his arrest. It is further alleged on October 21st, 2020, the man had attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and damaged a door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man spat at police officers and made threats to kill the families of the officers. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
