BREAK AND ENTER, THEFT UNDER $5000, THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Jacob Benoit, 21, of Cornwall was arrested on December 14th, 2020 and charged with the following:

·         Break and enter

·         Theft under $5000

·         Uttering threats

·         Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

·         Breach of release order (for failing to abide by his curfew)

It is alleged during the early morning hours on December 12th, 2020, the man entered the residence of someone known to him, without their permission, and removed property. While in the residence, the man also made threats to harm the victim. On December 14th, 2020, police located the man and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shawnna Chartrand, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on December 14th, 2020 and charged with breach of release order for failing to remain in her residence. She was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged while investigating an unrelated matter on December 14th, 2020, the woman was located outside of her residence, despite her conditions. An investigation ensued and during the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 2nd, 2021.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Stephen Lamothe, 41, of Fournier, ON was arrested on December 14th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on December 7th, 2019, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On December 14th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 2nd, 2021.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Christopher Lelievre, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on December 14th, 2020 on the strength of a warrant for breaching his probation. He was also charged with two counts of breach of release order for contacting a certain person and attending a certain address. On December 14th, 2020, the man was located in the residence of a certain person, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Nikala High, 28, was arrested on December 14th, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with a woman known to her on October 4th, 2018, she assaulted the victim with a household object. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On December 14th, 2020, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 2nd, 2021.
