WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Cory Benedict, 40, of Akwesasne was arrested on April 12th, 2021 on the strength of two warrants. It is alleged in 2016, the man provided a false name to police while stopped during a traffic stop. The man further fled from police during the traffic stop and was operating the vehicle in a dangerous manner. An investigation ensued and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 12th, 2021, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrants. The warrants were executed and the man was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Robert Pullman, 33 of Orleans was arrested on April 12th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on March 9th, 2021 the man failed to attend court for an impaired offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 12th, 2021 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, ROBBERY, CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Rene Lang, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on April 12th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant for breaching his probation and failing to attend court. He was also charged with the following:

·         Break and enter x4

·         Possession of property obtained by crime

·         Robbery with violence

·         Carrying a concealed weapon

·         Breach of probation

 It is alleged between March and April the man forced his way into four local businesses, causing damages and removing property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 12th, 2021, the man attended a Cornwall Square business and took merchandise. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a concealed knife. The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ROBBERY WITH THEFT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – John Payne, 29, of Cornwall was arrested April 12th, 2021 and charged with robbery with theft, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine) and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 12th, 2021, John Payne and Rene Lang (see above) attended a Cornwall Square business and took a quantity of merchandise. Police were contacted and located the man shortly thereafter, while in possession of a quantity of stolen items He was taken into custody, and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Ian Clarke, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on April 12th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on March 6th, 2021 for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 12th, 2021, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on June 15th, 2021.
