SHOPLIFTING, PUBLIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Ashley Santarsiero, 23, of Akwesasne was arrested on May 13th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000 and public mischief. It is alleged on March 20th, 2021, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. It is further alleged the woman then contacted police to report an incident at the business, which was later determined to be unfounded. On May 13th, 2021, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 22nd, 2021.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Malinda Rochon, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on May 13th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. She was also charged with breach of release order for failing to notify a change of address to police and failing to report to her bail supervision program. It is alleged on May 5th, 2021, the woman failed to re-attend court and police were contacted to investigate. On May 13th, 2021, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 22nd, 2021.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Patrick Rottier, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on May 13th, 2021 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with someone known to him on May 6th, 2021, the man assaulted the victim and police were contacted to investigate. On May 13th, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 22nd, 2021.

ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM

Cornwall, ON – Ethan Bressard, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on May 13th, 2021 and charged with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged the man assaulted a youth during an altercation and subsequently caused an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 13th, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 22nd, 2021.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Montreal man was arrested on May 13th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged between June and July 2020, the man committed multiple assaults on his girlfriend, choked her and caused injury to her, as well as made numerous threats to harm her and her family. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 13th, 2021, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held in custody for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 13th, 2021 and charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged the youth made threats to harm another youth while she was in possession of a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
