ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE

Cornwall, ON – Michel Lecompte, 63, of Cornwall was arrested on May 20th, 2021 and charged with robbery with violence. It is alleged on May 20th, the man attended a Second Street business where he obtained a quantity of merchandise, without making any attempt to pay for the items. He was stopped by an employee, at which time the man allegedly assaulted the employee and fled with the merchandise. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 27th, 2021.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Silas Benedict, 62, of Cornwall was arrested on May 20th, 2021 and charged with uttering threats, as well as breach of release order for failing to reside at a certain address. It is alleged on May 20th, during an altercation with someone known to him, the man made threats to harm the person and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT OVER $5000, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON X 4, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Taylor Bergeron, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on May 21st, 2021 and charged with the following:

• Theft over $5000
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Assault with a weapon x 4
• Mischief under $5000
• Breach of probation (for possessing weapons and failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on May 19th, 2021, the man took a bicycle that did not belong to him that was valued over $5000, and was later found to be in possession of it. It is further alleged on May 20th, the man brandished brass knuckles to four individuals in the area of 960 Brookdale Avenue, and proceeded to smash the windshield of the vehicle the individuals were in. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Amanda David, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on May 20th, 2021 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on May 20th, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area Anthony Street when the vehicle struck a parked vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 27th, 2021.

ASSAULT POLICE X 2

Cornwall, ON – Petra Decle, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on May 20th, 2021 and charged with two counts of assault police. It is alleged while police were investigating an unrelated matter on May 20th, the intoxicated woman bit two police officers and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 27th, 2021.
