ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 61-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 24th, 2021 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his sister, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. On June 24th, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2021. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THIRD PERSON ARRESTED IN DOMESTIC-RELATED BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – After an ongoing investigation into a domestic-related break and enter, a third person has been taken into custody.

A 23-year-old Cornwall man was taken into custody on June 24th, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine)

It is alleged during the early morning hours on June 24th, 2021, the man, along with two others, forced their way into a residence belonging to one of the accused individuals’ ex-boyfriend, where they assaulted the victim and another person with bear spray. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 24th, 2021, the 23-year-old man was located by police and taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
