DOMESTIC ASSAULT X 2, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on June 29th, 2021 and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged between January and February, the woman assaulted her girlfriend on two occasions. It is further alleged in April, the woman damaged her girlfriend’s cellphone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 29th, 2021, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Robert Patenaude, 57, of Cornwall was arrested on June 29th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on June 9th, 2021, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 29th, 2021, he was located by police during an unrelated investigation. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 9th, 2021.

POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – Michael Bayer, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on June 29th, 2021 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged on June 27th, the man was in possession of a stolen watch and police were contacted to investigate. On June 29th, 2021, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Ottawa as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing.
