WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Angel Dore, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on June 30th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on May 27th, 2021, the woman failed to attend court for a failing to appear for fingerprints offence. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On June 30th, 2021, she was located by police and was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on September 21st, 2021.

POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Coty Casselman, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on July 1st, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance x 2 (cocaine and Hydromorphone)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2 (cocaine and Hydromorphone)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on July 1st, 2021, while police were investigating an unrelated matter, the man was located in possession of a quantity of cocaine, Hydromorphone, and Canadian currency. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 1st, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with two counts of breach of release order for contacting and being within 200 metres of his girlfriend. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on March 23rd, 2021 for previously failing to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 1st, 2021, police located the man in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING X 3, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Rice, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on July 2nd, 2021 on the strength of multiple warrants. He was also charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as breach of release order for failing to remain in his residence and failing to reside in Ottawa.

It is alleged between November 2020 and March 2021, multiple warrants were issued for the man as a result of breaching his probation, his release order and failing to attend court. It is further alleged in April 2021, the man was unlawfully in the residence of someone known to him, where he assaulted the victim with a knife and bear spray. Police were contacted and an additional warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 2nd, the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from the Ontario Provincial Police, who had taken him into custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. While in police custody, the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl, methamphetamine and heroin. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Tanner Hiemstra, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on July 1st, 2021 and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 1st, the man assaulted someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 14th, 2021.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Denise Portieous-Jodoin, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on July 2nd, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on May 18th, after previously failing to attend court. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 2nd, 2021, the woman was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Charles MacDonald, 49, of Cornwall was arrested on July 2nd, 2021 and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 2nd, the man assaulted someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2021.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON X 2, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM (CHOKING), THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 3rd, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Domestic assault
  • Assault with a weapon x 2
  • Assault causing bodily harm (choking)
  • Uttering threats
  • Breach of release order x 3 (for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within 200 metres of her and failing to abide by a curfew)

It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend during the early morning hours on July 3rd, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend with a table and a lighter. The man is further alleged to have choked the woman and made threats to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 3rd, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on May 21st for a domestic-related offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 3rd, 2021, the woman was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the charges stem from a domestic-related incident and would identify the victim.

THEFT UNDER $5000 X 4

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Cloutier, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on July 3rd, 2021 and charged with four counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged on four occasions between June and July, the man attended two businesses and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store on any occasion. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 3rd, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2021.

WARRANT, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE X 2, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, BREACH, THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Martika Smoke-Thompson, 30, of Cornwall was arrested on July 3rd, 2021 on the strength of a warrant for failing to reside at a certain address and failing to abide by her curfew. She was also charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance x 2 (cocaine and methamphetamine)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine)
  • Breach of release order (for failing to abide by her curfew)
  • Theft under $5000

On June 3rd, 2021, the Cornwall Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police executed a series of search warrants in the City of Cornwall as part of Project Sunrise. During the search of one of the involved residences, the woman was located with a quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine pills. On July 3rd, it is further alleged the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Roch Richer, 59, of North Glengarry was arrested on July 3rd, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man breached his probation order and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 3rd, 2021, a member of the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from the Ontario Provincial Police, who had arrested the man on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and he was held in custody to await a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTER, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, ASSAULT, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, UTTERING THREATS, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 3rd, 2021and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Breach of youth probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on July 3rd, the man entered the residence of someone known to him without permission and removed a wallet. An altercation ensued, at which time the man held an edged weapon to one of the residents, while making threats to kill her. During the altercation, the man assaulted another resident and threw an object at a window, causing it to break. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Thomas Kahnapace, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on July 4th, 2021 and charged with assault police. It is alleged while police were investigating an unrelated matter on July 4th, 2021, the man spat at a police officer. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2021.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS, BREACH 

Cornwall, ON – Kirbie Lazore, 30, of Hogansburg, NY was arrested on July 5th, 2021 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 3rd, the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On July 5th, 2021, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2021.
