WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on July 26th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on July 6th, 2021 for a domestic-related offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 26th, 2021, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2021. Her name was not released as the incident stems from a domestic offence and would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT OVER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Sukhdeep Singh Gill, 29, of Brampton was arrested on July 26th, 2021 and charged with theft over $5000. It is alleged on July 22nd, 2021, the man attended a car dealership to test drive a vehicle; however, failed to return with the vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 26th, 2021, police located the man and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2021.

ASSAULT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Diane Pumnea, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on July 26th, 2021 and charged with assault and breach of undertaking for contacting a certain person. It is alleged between July 15-16, 2021, the woman assaulted someone known to her and contacted someone she has conditions of no contact with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On July 26th, 2021, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2021.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Adam Stokes, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on July 26th, 2021 and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an altercation with a man known to him, he assaulted the man with a knife and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2021.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON x 2, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Alexander Cecereu, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on July 26th, 2021 and charged with assault with a weapon x 2 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. It is alleged during an altercation with a woman known to him, the man assaulted the woman with a knife and a garbage bag. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2021.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT, THREATS, HARASSING COMMUNICATIONS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 26th, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Criminal harassment
  • Domestic assault
  • Sexual assault
  • Uttering threats
  • Harassing communications
  • Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged the man had repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend and attended her residence on multiple occasions, despite being told to stop. It is further alleged the man sexually assaulted the woman, assaulted her and made threats to harm her. On July 26th, 2021, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence once again and police were contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
