BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Cloe Dumont, 21, of Green Valley, ON was arrested on July 30th, 2021 and charged with breach of release order for attending Cornwall without her surety, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 30th, 2021, while police were responding to an unrelated matter, the woman was located in Cornwall, despite her conditions. An investigation subsequently ensued and the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 7th, 2021.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Domenic Rahal, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on July 31st, 2021 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on July 31st, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol in the area of Pitt Street and Wellington Street, when the vehicle struck a ditch. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 5th, 2021.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Paul Buckshot, 49, of Akwesasne was arrested on July 31st, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on June 29th, 2021 for a fail to attend for fingerprints offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 31st, 2021, a member of the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, as the man had been taken into custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Coboconk, ON man was arrested on August 1st, 2021 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on August 1st, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and had contact with the woman, despite the conditions of his undertaking. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Deer Lake, ON was arrested on August 1st, 2021 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law wife, the man assaulted her, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 2nd, 2021 and charged with breach of release order for failing to abide by his curfew. It is alleged on August 2nd, the youth left his residence during the hours of his curfew and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the youth was located by police and was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A PERSON UNDER 16, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Shane Meekis, 23, of Deer Lake, ON was arrested on August 3rd, 2021 and charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, sexual interference, as well as breach of release order for consuming alcohol outside of his residence. It is alleged on August 2nd, 2021, the intoxicated man inappropriately touched a female known to him under the age of 16. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 3rd, 2021, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

Cornwall, ON – John Johnstone, 52, of Alexandria was arrested on August 3rd, 2021 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime and operation while prohibited. It is alleged during the early morning hours on August 3rd, the man was operating a stolen motor vehicle while he was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 7th, 2021.
