WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Monette, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on August 9th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 30th, 2021, the man failed to attend court for an impaired offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 9th, 2021, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Akwesasne man was arrested on August 9th, 2021 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-common-law wife. He was charged with an additional three counts of breach of undertaking for contacting a man known to him, and being within a certain distance of the man’s residence and his family members. It is alleged in June, the man contacted his ex-common-law wife, despite his conditions, and a police investigation ensued. It is further alleged in July, the man attended within a certain distance of a man known to him and had contact, once again breaching his conditions. On August 9th, 2021, a member of the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 21st, 2021. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
