WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Kristan Hewitt, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on August 24th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on July 8th, 2021 for a breach offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 24th, 2021, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on November 2nd, 2021.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 24th, 2021 and charged with five counts of breach of release order for being within a certain distance of his girlfriend, failing to remain in his residence, failing to reside with his surety, failing to notify a change of address, and failing to report to the Cornwall Police Service. It is alleged during the month of August, the man had failed to comply with the conditions of his release order and an investigation ensued. On August 24th, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 25th, 2021 and charged with aggravated assault. It is alleged during an altercation with a man he did not know, the youth assaulted the man with an edged weapon, resulting in an injury that required medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Donald Timmons, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on August 25th, 2021 and charged with operation while prohibited. It is alleged on August 25th, 2021, the man was operating a motor vehicle, despite being prohibited from doing so. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 2nd, 2021.
