DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 22, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Domestic assault
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling
  • Breach of undertaking x 6 (for contacting his ex-common-law wife and their children, as well as attending their residence)

It is alleged on October 21st, 2021, the man entered his ex-common-law wife’s residence without permission, where he assaulted her and damaged a kitchen drawer before fleeing the residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 22, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – James Labelle, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on October 5th, 2021 for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 22nd, 2021, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on December 23rd, 2021.

THREATS, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 22nd, 2021 and charged with uttering threats and resist police. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law-wife, the man made threats to kill the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 22nd, 2021, police located the man and took him into custody after the man resisted police. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 22nd, 2021 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged on October 22nd, during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, the man assaulted her and damaged her vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on January 11th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 23rd, 2021 and charged with uttering threats and breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-common-law wife. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-common-law wife, the man made threats to kill her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED BY DRUG, IDENTITY THEFT, PERSONATION, CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, OBSTRUCT POLICE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Dustin Rayat, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on October 24th, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Identity theft
  • Personation
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Obstruct police
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance (fentanyl)
  • Breach of release order x 6 (for contacting and being within a certain distance of someone, possessing a weapon, failing to abide by his curfew, failing to reside with his surety, and failing to notify a change of address)

It is alleged during the early morning hours on October 24th, 2021, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug. Police conducted a traffic stop and an investigation ensued, in which the man was located in the company of a certain person and was away from his residence, despite his conditions. The man further identified as someone else to police, while providing a piece of identification belonging to that person. He was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl and a concealed knife. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Kayla Kirkey, 32, of Cornwall was arrested on October 24th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged the woman attempted to take a lawnmower that did not belong to her from a First Street residence and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 23rd, 2021.
