WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Drew George, 29, of Akwesasne was arrested on February 18th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on January 4th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area of the Cornwall Port of Entry. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 18th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on March 24th, 2022.

IMPAIRED

Cornwall, ON – Mercedes Lague, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on February 19th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on February 19th, 2022, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug in the area of Second Street and Glengarry Boulevard and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 28th, 2022.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 19th, 2022 and charged with two counts of breach of release order for contacting his girlfriend and being within 100 metres of her. It is alleged on February 19th, the man was in the company of his girlfriend, despite his conditions, and a police investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 24th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80, FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT

Cornwall, ON – Aronhientha Benedict-Oakes, 25, of Akwesasne was arrested on February 20th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, over 80 and fail to stop after an accident. It is alleged on February 20th, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol when he struck a snowbank in the area of Water Street and Gloucester Street and fled the area on foot. Police were contacted and located the man shortly thereafter. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2022.

IMPAIRED, POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE (FENTANYL)

Cornwall, ON – Amanda McCourt, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on February 20th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a Schedule I substance, being fentanyl. It is alleged on February 20th, 2022, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug when the vehicle struck a snowbank. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, at which time she was found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2022.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Madison Pawis, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on February 20th, 2022 and charged with assault. It is alleged on December 11th, 2021, the woman assaulted someone known to her and police were contacted to investigate. On February 20th, 2022, she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2022.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kimberley Dobbs, 22, of Cornwall was arrested on February 20th, 2022 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting a certain person. It is alleged on February 15th, 2022, the woman contacted someone she has conditions of no contact with and police were contacted to investigate. On February 20th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Louis Lafave, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on February 20, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on November 23rd, 2022, the man defrauded someone known to him of a quantity of money and police were contacted. On February 20th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2022.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Rachel Williams, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on February 20th, 2022 and charged with three counts of breach of release order. It is alleged between February 16-17, 2022, the woman breached her release order by failing to reside at an approved residence, failing to attend and participate in her bail supervision program, as well as failed to report to her bail supervision program. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 20th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, OBSTRUCT POLICE, PERSONATION WITH INTENT TO AVOID ARREST, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Lindsay Cole, 36, of Akwesasne was arrested on February 20th, 2022 and charged with the following:

• Operation while prohibited x 3
• Obstruct police
• Personation with intent to avoid arrest
• Breach of release order (for failing to abide by her curfew)
• Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged during the night of February 20th, 2022, the woman was operating a motor vehicle, despite being prohibited from doing so. During a traffic stop, the woman is further alleged to have provided a false name to police. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 21st, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on February 21st, 2022, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
