Crime Prevention Week 2020: Serving Ontario, Protecting Communities

Published on le 30 octobre 2020

Cornwall, ON – Today the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) is kicking off Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week, which runs from November 1 to 7, 2020. The week-long promotion of crime prevention is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and police services across Ontario. The theme of this year’s annual event is “Serving Ontario, Protecting Communities.”

Ontario communities are among the safest in the world; however, community safety and well-being takes hard work and collaboration. That is why the CPS is proud to collaborate with government, community leaders, young people, and businesses to prevent crime throughout the City of Cornwall.

During this year’s Crime Prevention Week, the CPS will be highlighting a series of crime prevention strategies that can help protect all members of our community from becoming a victim of crime. Some of the topics will include cybercrime and fraud, property crime, sexual exploitation, vulnerable person safety, as well as resources for what to do if you ever become a victim of crime.

Crime prevention involves all of us working together to make our homes, neighbourhoods, and workplaces healthy and safe. If we mobilize the entire community, the impact on the wellness and safety of all members of the public is limitless.
