WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 14, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with three counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on May 27, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to remain on the property at his residence at all times, to not contact his brother and to not be outside of his residence with alcohol in his body. On May 27, 2024, police responded to a disturbance and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man failed to remain at his residence, was outside of his residence with alcohol in his body and was also in contact with his brother. On Aug. 14, 2024, the man was located by police at the courthouse. The warrant was executed, he was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 19, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Aug. 14, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on June 23, 2024, the youth attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 14, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
