THEFT UNDER $5,000

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old youth was arrested on Aug. 15, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Aug. 13, 2024, the youth attended a Second Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 15, 2024, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court at a later date. The youth’s name was not revealed as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ATTEMPTED THEFT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – Michel Lascelle, 58, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 15, 2024, and charged with the following offences;

  • Theft under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000 x4
  • Possession of break in tools

It is alleged on April 5, 2024, the man attended a bank and damaged multiple automatic teller machines while attempting to remove currency from them. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 15, 2024, the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Sept. 19, 2024.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 59-year-old man was arrested on Aug. 15, 2024, and was charged with assault. It is alleged on June 8, 2024, the man assaulted his girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 15, 2024, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth was arrested on Aug. 15, 2024, and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged on Aug. 01, 2024, the youth was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Aug 15, 2024, the youth was located and the warrant was executed. He was released to appear in court at a later date. The youth’s name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
