FAIL TO COMPLY, ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE, FRAUD

Cornwall, ON – Ali Nasr, 49, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 27, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Six counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Robbery with violence
  • Fraud over $5,000

It is alleged on March 1, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not be within 200 metres of his wife’s home or workplace, to not communicate with his wife, to not be in the physical presence of his wife, to reside at a specific address, to not go to any place where his wife may live and to not change his address without prior consent. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man robbed an individual known to him. The investigation also revealed that from Feb. 15, 2024, to March 28, 2024, the man allegedly fraudulently withdrew funds from the individual’s bank account. Further investigation revealed he was also allegedly in communication with and living with his wife.

On Aug. 27, 2024, the man was located by police at the courthouse. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 17, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE, ADMINISTER NOXIOUS THING, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE

Cornwall, ON – Adam Jodoin, 41, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 28, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Robbery with violence
  • Administer noxious thing with intent to aggrieve or annoy
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

It is alleged on Aug. 16, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not possess any weapons. It is also alleged on this date, the man attempted to rob an individual known to him and assaulted him with pepper spray. On Aug. 28, 2024, the man was located by police at the Cornwall Courthouse. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 28, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Domestic assault

It is alleged on Aug. 28, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact his ex-girlfriend. It is also alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. Furthermore, it is alleged on this date, the man was in contact with his ex-girlfriend and assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Aug. 29, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Aug. 29, 2024, the youth attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 29, 2024, the youth was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Melanie Malette, 39, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 29, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on April 16, 2024, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with a specific individual known to her. It is also alleged on this date, the woman communicated with the individual she was prohibited from having contact with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Aug. 29, 2024, the woman was located by police at the Cornwall Courthouse. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Oct. 3, 2024.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Carli Duffy-McCormick, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 29, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Aug. 8, 2024, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Aug. 29, 2024, the woman was located by police, while on general patrol. The warrant was executed and she was released to appear in court on Oct. 3, 2024.
