SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Aug. 2, 2024, and charged with three counts of theft under $5,000.

  • It is alleged on June 10, 2024, the youth attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on June 11, 2024, the youth attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on June 22, 2024, the youth attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Aug. 2, 2024, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matters. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO COMPLY, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, DANGEROUS OPERATION, FLIGHT FROM PEACE OFFICER

Cornwall, ON – Joshua Tilley, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 2, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Operation while prohibited
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from a peace officer

It is alleged on July 31, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to reside at an address approved by the bail supervision program. He failed to do so. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

Furthermore, it is alleged on Aug. 2, 2024, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not operate or have care and control of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on this date, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from being able to do so. It is also alleged he operated the motor vehicle in a dangerous manner and fled police.

Later on Aug. 2, 2024, the man was located and taken into custody by members of the Ontario Provincial Police and subsequently turned over to the CPS. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANTS, UTTERING THREATS, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 2, 2024, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with the following:

  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of domestic assault
  • Aggravated assault
  • Criminal negligence causing bodily harm

It is alleged on May 28, 2016, the youth brandished an edged weapon and made threats to an individual known to him. It is also alleged on this date, the youth threatened to kill the individual. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Furthermore, on Sept. 13, 2016, police responded to a dropped 911 call and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the youth assaulted his girlfriend. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Finally, it is alleged on Aug. 15, 2017, he assaulted an individual causing bodily harm. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Aug. 2, 2024, the man was located by police while on general patrol and a traffic stop was conducted. The warrants were executed, he was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. As a result of the original offences having been allegedly committed when he was 17 years old, the man’s name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Alexandria man was arrested on Aug. 2, 2024, and charged with three counts of fail to comply with probation order. It is alleged on Aug. 2, 2024, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or communicate with his ex-girlfriend or children and to not be within 100 metres of any place where you know them to live work, go to school or frequent. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 20, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victims. 

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Shaine Robertson, 37, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Aug. 3, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to remain in his residence between specific hours. On this date, while dealing with a separate matter, police located the man and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man had allegedly breached his curfew. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2024.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Louis Delorme, 44, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 25, 2024, the man was scheduled to appear in court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Aug. 3, 2024, the man was located by police while on general patrol. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – James McCormick, 48, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on July 16, 2024, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for this arrest. On Aug. 3, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Glenn Madden, 53, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, and charged with fail to comply with an undertaking. It is alleged on June 27, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not communicate with a specific individual. It is also alleged in this date, the man was in contact with the individual he was prohibited from communicating with. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 3, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024.

WARRANTS, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Cory Benedict, 43, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with nine counts of theft under $5,000.

  • It is alleged on Jan. 12, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • It is alleged on Jan. 27, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • It is alleged on July 8, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on July 11, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on July 16, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on July 18, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on July 20, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
  • It is alleged on July 23, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.
  • It is alleged on Aug. 3, 2024, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On Aug. 3, 2024, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2024.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Taneisha Smith, 30, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, and charged with assault. It is alleged on July 20, 2024, the woman punched an individual in the face several times. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 3, 2024, the woman was located by police. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 5, 2024.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 58-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on Aug. 1, 2024, the man sexually assaulted his daughter-in-law. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 3, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2024. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Olanrewaju Adekunle, 52, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2024, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Aug. 3, 2024, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Water Street and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he was allegedly operating his motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Aug. 27, 2024.

POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE FOR PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, POSSESSION OF PROCEEDS OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, POSSESSION OF WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Vianne Hayes, 24, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 4, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon

On Aug. 4, 2024, police conducted an inspection at a local establishment and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly in possession of drugs, packaging material and a large sum of cash. It is also alleged the man was in possession of a weapon. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Ingleside woman was arrested on Aug. 4, 2024, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Aug. 4, 2024, the woman kicked and punched her boyfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. She was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 3, 2024. Her name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Megan Julien, 27, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 4, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on Aug. 4, 2024, the woman attended a Ninth Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was held for a bail hearing.

DANGEROUS OPERATION, FAIL TO STOP AFTER ACCIDENT, MISCHIEF, FLIGHT FROM PEACE OFFICER, RESIST PEACE OFFICER, DISARMING PEACE OFFICER, OPERATION WHILE IMPAIRED, OVER 80, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – Timothy Doiron-Thompson, 22, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 4, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of dangerous operation
  • Three counts of failure to stop after accident
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Resist peace officer
  • Disarming a peace officer
  • Operation while impaired
  • Over 80
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Two counts of fail to comply with release order

On Aug. 4, 2024, police responded to an erratic driver call in the area of Marlborough Street and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man was allegedly operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, hit an unoccupied motor vehicle causing damage and failed to remain at the scene of the accident. The man was located, at which point he allegedly continued to drive in a dangerous manner and fled police. It is also alleged, the man struck a second unoccupied motor vehicle in the area of Belmont Street and Second Street East and once again fled the scene. Furthermore, it is alleged, the man struck a third unoccupied motor vehicle in the area of Baldwin Avenue and Montreal Road and once again left the area.

The man was later located by police and while being taken into custody, it is alleged he resisted arrested and attempted to disarm a member of the CPS. Further investigation also revealed the man was allegedly operating a stolen motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Finally, it is alleged the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to notify police of any change of address within 24 hours and two separate release orders with the relevant condition to reside with a surety in Brockville. He failed to do so.

The man was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 63-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 4, 2024, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Aug. 4, 2024, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO PROVIDE NECESSITIES OF LIFE

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 5, 2024, and charged with fail to provide necessities of life - child or spouse. On Aug. 5, 2024, police responded to a disturbance call and an investigation ensued. The man was located and the investigation revealed he allegedly failed to provide the necessities of life to his daughter. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 10, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identify of the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Newington man was arrested on Aug. 6, 2024, and charged with domestic assault and mischief - destroys or damages property. It is alleged on July 24, 2024, the man assaulted his girlfriend and damaged property inside her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 6, 2024, the man attended police headquarters to deal with a separate matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 3, 2024. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, UTTERING THREATS, ROBBERY WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Aug. 6, 2024, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Two counts of assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
  • Robbery with a weapon

It is alleged on Aug. 6, 2024, the youth was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not attend a specific park in the City of Cornwall. On this date, police responded to a disturbance call at a park and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the youth allegedly attended the park he was prohibited from attending, assaulted an individual with a weapon and attempted to set him on fire. Furthermore, it is alleged he threatened to harm another individual and robbed him. The youth was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  

WARRANT, ADMINISTER NOXIOUS THING, KIDNAPPING, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY HARM, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – Mitchell Jocko, 42, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 6, 2024, on the strength of an outstanding warrant and charged with the following:

  • Three counts of administer noxious thing
  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Sexual assault
  • Sexual assault causing bodily harm
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

It is alleged on May 4, 2024, the man drugged a woman several times and also kidnapped and confined her. It is also alleged he sexually assaulted the woman, sexually assaulted her causing injuries and threatened to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

On Aug. 6, 2024, the man was taken into custody by members of the Canada Border Services Agency and subsequently turned over to the CPS. The warrant was executed and the man was charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing.
