ASSAULT, UTTERING THREATS

Cornwall, ON – David Jock, 31, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 8, 2024, and charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. On Aug. 8, 2024, police responded to an unwanted person call and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the man allegedly assaulted an individual and made threats to kill both her and police. He was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Darryl Markell, 50, of Cornwall, was arrested on Aug. 8, 2024, and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged on July 29, 2024, the man attended a Second Street East business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the item. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Aug. 8, 2024, while on general patrol, police located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Sept. 19, 2024.

FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Aug. 8, 2024, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with an undertaking. It is alleged on Aug. 6, 2024, the man was bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not contact his ex-girlfriend and to not attend her residence or any place she is known to be. It is alleged on this date, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and communicated with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was held for a bail hearing. The man’s name was not released to protect the identity of the victim.
