Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 14th, 2020 and charged with domestic assault and uttering threats. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend on September 11th, the man assaulted her and made threats to kill her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 24th, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREAK AND ENTER X 2, BREACH, POSSESSION OF BREAK-IN INSTRUMENTS
Cornwall, ON – Marc Jodoin, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2020 and charged with the following:
· Break and enter x 2
· Possession of break-in instruments
· Breach of probation x 3 (for failing to keep the peace and failing to notify a change of address)
It is alleged between August and September, the man forced his way into two residences of people he did not know, and took a number of items from both residences. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2020, he was taken into custody and was found in possession of break-in instruments. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 24th, 2020.
DOMESTIC BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 14th, 2020 and charged with the following:
· Breach of non-communication order (for contacting his girlfriend)
· Breach of undertaking (for failing to keep the peace)
· Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged between August 2-16, 2020, the man contacted his girlfriend, despite having an order of no contact with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2020, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
DOMESTIC BREACH, OBSTRUCT JUSTICE
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 14th, 2020 and charged with the following:
· Breach of non-communication order (for contacting his ex-wife)
· Breach of release order (for contacting his ex-wife)
· Obstruct justice
It is alleged on September 5th, 2020, the man contacted his ex-wife, despite having an order of no contact with her. The man also allegedly attempted to obstruct his case before the courts through his contact with the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2020, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He was charged accordingly and remained in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Malinda Rochon, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2020 and charged with breach of release order for failing to sign in to police. It is alleged on September 7th, 2020, the woman failed to sign in to police despite the conditions of her release order. An investigation ensued and on September 14th, 2020, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 24th, 2020.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 15th, 2020 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged during an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, the man assaulted her and damaged various items in her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANTS
Cornwall, ON – Larry Labelle, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on September 15th, 2020 on the strength of three warrants. It is alleged the man had failed to comply with his release order by failing to reside at a certain residence, failing to report to his bail supervision program, and failing to sign in to police. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for his arrest. On September 15th, 2020, police located the man and took him into custody on the strength of the warrants. The warrants were executed and the man was held in custody to await a bail hearing.
