WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Brockville man was arrested on October 22nd, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on September 7th, 2020, the man made threats to harm his ex-wife, as well as breached his probation, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 22nd, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on December 31st, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Sean Finnerty, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2020 and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited. It is alleged on October 22nd, 2020, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so in the area of Vimy Avenue and Sydney Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 31st, 2020.

WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 23rd, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with breach of release order for failing to abide by a curfew and breach of youth probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on October 17th, 2020, the man made threats to kill a woman known to him and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 23rd, 2020, police located the man outside of his residence, despite his curfew. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Michael Isaac, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to sign in to police in August of 2019, despite his conditions, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 22nd, 2020, a member of the Cornwall Police Service attended Montreal as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. The warrants were executed and he remained in custody to await a bail hearing.  

FOUR ARRESTED IN BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – Four individuals have been taken into custody in relation to an ongoing break and enter investigation. They were charged as follows:

Joseph Lalonde, 30, of Morrisburg:

·         Break and enter

·         Possession of property obtained by crime

·         Possession of break-in instruments

·         Disguise with intent

·         Possession of a Schedule I substance x 2 (fentanyl and OxyContin)

Morgan McCreary, 41, of Cornwall:

·         Possession of property obtained by crime

·         Possession of a Schedule I substance x 3 (cocaine, fentanyl and OxyContin)

·         Breach of release order x 4 (for failing to reside at a certain address, failing to notify a change of address, contacting and being within a certain distance of Marc Jodoin)

Marc Jodoin, 46, of Cornwall:

·         Break and enter

·         Possession of break-in instruments

·         Disguise with intent

·         Possession of property obtained by crime

·         Possession of a Schedule I substance x 2 (fentanyl and OxyContin)

·         Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

Steven Helie, 44, of Cornwall:

·         Possession of property obtained by crime

·         Possession of a Schedule I substance x 2 (fentanyl and OxyContin)

·         Breach of probation (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on October 22nd, 2020, two of the individuals forced their way into a Second Street West residence and removed various valuables from the home. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, police located the four individuals named above in possession of a number of stolen items. They were taken into custody, at which time all of the individuals were found to be in possession of controlled substances. They were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
