BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 9th, 2021 and charged with two counts of breach of release order. It is alleged between May and June, the man was in possession of a cell phone, despite his conditions, and further contacted his ex-common-law wife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 9th, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 17th, 2021. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Jessica Belanger, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on June 9th, 2021 for failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on June 7th, 2021, the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On June 9th, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 8th, 2021.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES LAID IN PROJECT SUNRISE

Cornwall, ON – Blake Atwell, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on June 9th, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a prohibited device
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of prohibition order x 4
  • Breach of undertaking (for possessing a cell phone and failing to keep the peace)

On June 3rd, 2021, the CPS executed a series of search warrants, as part of Project Sunrise, throughout the City of Cornwall. During a search of the man’s residence, police located a Taser. On June 9th, police located the man with a cellphone, despite his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail haring.

OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED, OBSTRUCT POLICE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Andrew Lalonde-Lavigne, 27, of Cornwall was arrested on June 9th, 2021 and charged with operation while prohibited, obstruct police and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on June 9th, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so. During a traffic stop, the man is alleged to have provided a false name to police. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 24th, 2021.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 9th, 2021 and charged with two counts of breach of probation for contacting his girlfriend and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 31st, the man was at the same location at his ex-girlfriend and made contact with the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 9th, 2021, police located the man during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on August 17th, 2021. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
