Cornwall, ON – A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 6th, 2021 and charged with domestic assault and mischief under $5000. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on July 6th, the man assaulted her and damaged her phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Andre Fontaine, 52, of Cornwall was arrested on July 6th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on April 29th, 2021, the man took a bicycle from outside a Pitt Street business without the owner’s permission. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 6th, 2021, the man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2021.

Cornwall, ON – Raven Pelkey-Laughing, 24, of Seaforth, ON was arrested on July 6th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her probation order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On July 6th, 2021, she was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2021.
ROBBERY, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Brittany Howard-Markell, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on July 6th, 2021 and charged with robbery and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. The woman was approached by an employee, who she assaulted and further fled with the merchandise. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. Shortly thereafter, the woman was taken into custody during a traffic stop. She was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 21st, 2021.
