BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 5th, 2021 and charged with breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend. It is alleged on August 1st, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite the conditions of his undertaking, and police were contacted to investigate. On August 5th, 2021, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 5th, 2021 and charged with three counts of breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, and failing to remain in his residence during his curfew. It is alleged on August 7th, 2021, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. On August 5th, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 5th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on May 12th, 2021, the man forced his way into his ex-boyfriend’s residence and caused damage to electronics. It is further alleged the man had assaulted the victim later that day. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 5th, 2021, a member of the Cornwall Police Service assumed custody of the man from the Ontario Provincial Police, who had taken him into custody on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and he was held in custody to await a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – James Quinn, 37, of Ottawa was arrested on August 5th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on August 5th, the man attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

MAN ARRESTED IN 2003 SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Cornwall, ON – Alan Gunn, 57, of St. Andrew’s West was arrested on August 5th, 2021 and charged with two counts of sexual assault on a person under 16. It is alleged on two occasions in 2003, the man sexually assaulted a female casually known to him who was under the age of 16. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 5th, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Shaun Meekis, 38, and Chase Rae, 24, both of Deer Lake, ON were arrested on August 5th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on August 5th, the two men attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 5th, 2021 and charged with domestic assault and three counts of breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend, attending her residence and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with three counts of breach of probation for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 13th, 2021, the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence, despite his conditions, where he assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 5th, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

FAIL TO STOP AFTER AN ACCIDENT, OPERATION WHILE PROHIBITED

Cornwall, ON – Marcel Gauvreau, 50, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2021 and charged with failing to stop after an accident and operation while prohibited. It is alleged on April 1st, the man was operating a motor vehicle while prohibited from doing so, when he collided with a parked vehicle on Arthur Street and fled the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 6th, 2021, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

BREAK AND ENTER, POSSESSION OF BREAK-IN INSTRUMENTS, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Travis Cook, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2021 and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of break-in instruments
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of release order x 2 (for failing to reside at a certain address and failing to notify a change of address)
  • Breach of probation order (for failing to keep the peace)

It is alleged on August 6th, 2021, the man entered the residence of someone he did not know and removed various items from the residence without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, police located the man, who was in possession of a number of the stolen items, as well as break-in instruments. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kendra Czerwinski, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2021 and charged with utter forged document and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on July 23rd, 2021, the woman fraudulently signed a letter as someone else and police were contacted to investigate. On August 6th, 2021, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Crystal Square, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2021 and charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5000. It is alleged on June 23rd, 2021, the woman assaulted someone known to her with an edged-weapon and further damaged the window of a residence where the victim had fled from her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 6th, 2021, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – Avery Sauve, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on August 6th, 2021 and charged with assault and mischief under $5000. It is alleged on August 6th, the man assaulted a youth known to him and further damaged a window at the youth’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 7th, 2021 and charged with domestic mischief. It is alleged the man attended his ex-girlfriend’s residence and damaged a door. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 9th, 2021. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Craig Hopkins, 44, and Rachelle Mayer, 36, both of Cornwall, were arrested on August 7th, 2021 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on July 31st, 2021, the two individuals attended a Vincent Massey Drive business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as they left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 7th, 2021, the individuals both attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Angel Dore, 43, of Cornwall was arrested on August 7th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on July 8th, 2021 for a theft offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 7th, 2021, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on August 8th, 2021 and charged with two counts of breach of undertaking for contacting her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged on July 3rd and August 7th, the woman contacted her ex-boyfriend despite the conditions of her undertaking. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 8th, 2021, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 12th, 2021. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Barbara Cleary, 72, of Cornwall was arrested on August 8th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on July 22nd, 2021 for a mischief offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On August 8th, 2021, the woman was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on October 19th, 2021.

REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – Julian Thompson, 58, of Stokesdale, NC was arrested on August 8th, 2021 and charged with refusal to comply with demand. It is alleged on August 8th, 2021, the man was in care and control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Montreal Road and Edward Street. The man refused to provide a sample of his breath to police and was taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 16th, 2021.

CAUSE A DISTURBANCE, OBSTRUCT POLICE, RESIST POLICE

Cornwall, ON – Matthew Deveaux, 33, of Cornwall was arrested on August 8th, 2021 and charged with causing a disturbance, obstructing police and resisting police. It is alleged while police were responding to an unrelated matter on August 8th, 2021, the man repeatedly yelled and screamed while interfering the investigation. The man was taken into custody after resisting arrest. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on November 16th, 2021.
