FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS

Cornwall, ON – Austin Wilson, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on February 24th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on February 9th, 2022, the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On February 24th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 3rd, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Brett Benedict, 33, of St. Regis, QC was arrested on February 24th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on October 7th, 2021 for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 24th, 2022, the man was taken into custody by the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF UNDER $5000, ASSAULT CAUSE BODILY HARM (CHOKING)

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 24th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault, mischief under $5000 and assault cause bodily harm. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend on February 24th, the man assaulted the woman, damaged her phone, as well as choked her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 10th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Stephanie Cook, 22, of Ottawa was arrested on February 24th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on February 10th, 2022, the woman failed to attend court for an impaired offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On February 24th, 2022, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 12th, 2022.

TWO MONTREAL MEN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO STEAL A MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – Emilio Samaha, 21, and Gabriel Abou Jawde, 20, both of Montreal were arrested on February 25th, 2022 and charged with theft of motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged during the early morning hours on February 25th, 2022, the men attempted to take a motor vehicle that was parked at a Jarvis Street residence and police were contacted. Shortly thereafter, police located the men and took them into custody, who were found to be in possession of a quantity of currency. They were both charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
