OBSTRUCT POLICE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Blaze Oakes, 27, of Akwesasne was arrested on March 18th, 2022 and charged with obstruct police and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 18th, 2022, while stopped at the Port of Entry, the man fled from his vehicle, despite being involved in an unrelated police investigation. Police were contacted and took the man into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – James MacFarlane, 37, of Ottawa was arrested on March 19th, 2022 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on December 26th, 2021, the man fraudulently altered a cheque that did not belong to him and deposited it into his bank account. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 19th, 2022, he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 26th, 2022.

DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

Cornwall, ON – Christian Champagne, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on March 19th, 2022 and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. It is alleged on March 19th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area of Fifteenth Street West. Police were contacted and located the vehicle shortly thereafter, at which time the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 19th, 2022 and charged with break and enter. It is alleged on March 19th, 2022, the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission and damaged items in her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Scott DeBellefeuille, 51, of Gloucester was arrested on March 20th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 20th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Police were contacted and located the vehicle shortly thereafter. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 26th, 2022.

SHOPLIFTING, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Timothy Lessard, 34, of Cornwall was arrested on March 20th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 5th, 2022, the man attended a Second Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 20th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

POSSESSION OF A SCHEDULE I SUBSTANCE, THEFT UNDER $5000, UNLAWFULLY IN A DWELLING x 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 20th, 2022, and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine), theft under $5000, two counts of unlawfully in a dwelling and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 19 and March 20, 2022, the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence without permission and is further alleged to have taken a quantity of items belonging to the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 20th, 2022, he was taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
