Cornwall, ON – Mohammed Chughtai, 26, of Cornwall was arrested on March 24th, 2022 and charged with robbery with a weapon, as well as breach of probation for possessing a weapon and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 24th, 2022, the man attended a Leitch Drive convenience store and demanded money from the cashier while displaying a hammer. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
IMPAIRED, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – Ziff Sicotte, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on March 24th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 24th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and struck a parked vehicle in the area of Emma Avenue. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 6th, 2022.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Alexandria man was arrested on March 24th, 2022 and charged with 9 counts of breach of undertaking for contacting his ex-girlfriend, attending her residence, and being within a certain distance of her residence. It is alleged between March 21 and 22, the man contacted and attended the residence of his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions, and police were contacted to investigate. On March 24th, 2022, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
TWO INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING OFFENCES
Cornwall, ON – Brian Colborne, 29, and Laurie Rogers, 41, both of Cornwall were arrested on March 25th, 2022 and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking x 4, for cocaine, fentanyl, hydromorphone and methamphetamine. Brian Colborne was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime and failing to attend for fingerprints on February 2nd, 2022. It is alleged during the early morning hours on March 25th, 2022, police were called to investigate a disturbance at a Montreal Road residence, at which time the individuals were located in possession of a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, methamphetamine and Canadian currency. During the investigation, both individuals were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
