SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – Elizabeth Allikas, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged on March 5th, 2022, the woman attended a Ninth Street business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS, THEFT UNDER $5000 X 2, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – James MacFarlane, 37, of Ottawa was arrested on March 25th, 2022 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints, theft under $5000 x 2, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on January 26th, 2022, the man failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. It is further alleged on January 3rd, 2022 and March 24th, 2022, the man took money from someone known to him and a phone from someone he did not know. On March 25th, 2022, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 9th, 2022.

TWO INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED FOR BREACHING CURFEW CONDITIONS

Cornwall, ON – Joey Laurin, 25, and Mercedes Lague, 26, both of Cornwall were arrested on March 26th, 2022 and charged with breach of release order (Laurin)/undertaking (Lague) for failing to abide by their curfews. It is alleged during the early morning hours on March 26th, 2022, the individuals were located in breach of their conditions during a traffic stop. During the investigation, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 9th (Laurin) and June 14th, 2022 (Lague).

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 26th, 2022 and charged with two counts of breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her. It is alleged during the early morning hours on March 26th, 2022, while police were investigating a disturbance, the man was located in the company of his ex-girlfriend, despite his conditions. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANTS, FRAUD UNDER $5000, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Dana Cayer, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on March 26th, 2022 on the strength of two warrants. She was also charged with fraud under $5000 x 3 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged between December 2021 and March 16th, 2022, the woman defrauded six individuals by obtaining money from the victims in exchange for property that she never provided to the victims. Police were contacted and warrants were issued for her arrest. On March 26th, 2022, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

RESIST POLICE, ESCAPE LAWFUL CUSTODY, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 26th, 2022 and charged with breach of release order for contacting his ex-girlfriend, as well as resist police, escape lawful custody and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on March 17th, 2022, the man contacted his ex-girlfriend, despite the conditions of his release order. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 26th, 2022, while being arrested, the man fled from police custody and further resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Shaun Cook-Grignon, 20, of Green Valley, ON was arrested on March 26th, 2022 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on March 26th, 2022, the man was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol when he struck a pole in the area of Belfort Crescent. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 31st, 2022.

TWO MEN CHARGED WITH THEFT UNDER $5000

Cornwall, ON – Curtis Griffith, 34, and Damian Bannister, 19, both of Cornwall, were arrested on March 27th, 2022 and charged with theft under $5000. Curtis Griffith was also charged with breach of probation order for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the men had taken keys and a car battery from vehicles that did not belong to them. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 27th, 2022, they were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 9th, 2022.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 65-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 27th, 2022 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged on March 26th, 2022, the man repeatedly contacted his ex-wife, despite being warned to no longer contact the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 27th, 2022, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 7th, 2022. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 54-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 27th, 2022 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on March 27th, 2022, the woman assaulted her ex-common-law husband and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 9th, 2022. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
