ROBBERY WITH FIREARM

Cornwall, ON – On May 24th, 2022, three men were arrested and charged with robbery using a firearm. On May 24th, 2022, police responded to a robbery at a Brookdale Avenue business. It is alleged that two men entered the store, brandished a firearm, and demanded merchandise from staff. The men then exited the store with a quantity of merchandise and left in a vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the vehicle was located during a traffic stop outside of Cornwall by the Ontario Provincial Police and three individuals were taken into custody. The 3 individuals taken into custody were:

  • A 17-year-old male of no fixed address. His name was not released as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
  • Cheikh Sy, 27, of no fixed address
  • Joshua Toussaint, 19 of no fxed address

They were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – David Bissette, 61, of Cornwall, was arrested on May 24th, 2022, and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that on May 24th, 2022, he was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. An investigation ensued and the man was subsequently taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on June 14th, 2022.

WARRANTS

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on May 24th, 2022, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on April 13th, 2022, the man assaulted his ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and investigation ensued. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 24th, 2022, the man was located, the warrant was executed, and he was released to appear in court on June 7th, 2022.
